A Scottsdale, Arizona-based medical office developer plans to build a $100 million project in the Olympus development in Clermont.

Healthcare Trust of America (NYSE: HTA) bought a 6-acre site on U.S. 27 for $4.2 million from Winter Park-based Olympus Orlando Holdings LLC on May 6, according to Lake County records. The overall 243-acre Olympus project is set to be a mix of residential, sports venues, retail and medical uses.

The Healthcare Trust of America project will feature roughly 175,000 square feet of space, including a 96,000-square-foot building in the first phase, Olympus developer Mike Carroll told Orlando Business Journal. The project is estimated to create 325 direct jobs, not including indirect jobs created by construction.

“They had reached out to us and were interested in our vision for the property,” Carroll said.
