A massive future sports and wellness mixed-use development in Clermont is gearing up to start infrastructure work.
Winter Park-based Olympus Sports & Entertainment Group LLC, developer of the 243-acre Olympus community projected to create 6,950 jobs and $1.5 billion in economic impact, filed for permits with the state on April 15 for “Olympus Phase 1A.” The permits are for two temporary dry storm water management facilities, roadway and associated infrastructure, said documents.
Executives with Olympus were not available for comment.
The project, which is a multiyear endeavor, is slated to include sports training and competition venues for amateur, professional and Olympic athletes; health and fitness facilities; and sports-themed hotels, restaurants, shops, conference space, entertainment and residential real estate.
